About the Author
Peter Mansoor is a retired U.S. Army colonel who served in the Iraq War. He was a battalion commander in the 1st Armored Division and later served as a senior advisor to the Secretary of Defense. Mansoor is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and the Harvard Kennedy School. He is currently a professor of military history at Ohio State University.
