With 755 career home runs, he holds the all-time record for most home runs in Major League Baseball history. But Aaron's legacy extends far beyond his on-field accomplishments. He was also a pioneer for civil rights and a role model for generations of African Americans.

This intimate look at the life and legacy of Hank Aaron draws on exclusive interviews, rare photos, and in-depth analysis of his record-breaking career. We'll explore Aaron's humble beginnings, his rise to stardom, and his enduring impact on the game of baseball and American society.

Civil Rights Activist

In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Hank Aaron was also a pioneer for civil rights. He was a vocal opponent of segregation, and he used his platform to speak out against racism. Aaron's courage and determination helped to pave the way for other African Americans to succeed in baseball and other areas of American life.

Aaron was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2002 for his contributions to civil rights and his achievements in baseball.
