  • DK yarn in two colors (main color and contrast color)
  • 4mm knitting needles
  • 3.5mm knitting needles
  • Tapestry needle
  • Buttons (optional)

Gauge

22 stitches and 30 rows to 10cm/4 inches in stocking stitch on 4mm needles.

Abbreviations

  • CO - cast on
  • K - knit
  • P - purl
  • St(s) - stitch(es)
  • Rep - repeat

Instructions

Dress

  1. CO 72 sts in main color on 4mm needles.
  2. K all rows for 10cm/4 inches.
  3. Change to contrast color and K all rows for 5cm/2 inches.
  4. Change back to main color and K all rows for 10cm/4 inches.
  5. Cast off all sts.

Apron

  1. CO 36 sts in main color on 4mm needles.
  2. K all rows for 15cm/6 inches.
  3. Cast off all sts.

Headscarf

  1. CO 3 sts in main color on 3.5mm needles.
  2. K 1, P 1, K 1.
  3. Rep row 2 until scarf measures desired length.
  4. Cast off all sts.

Shoes

  1. CO 24 sts in main color on 4mm needles.
  2. K all rows for 10cm/4 inches.
  3. Cast off all sts.

Assembly

  1. Sew the apron to the center of the dress.
  2. Sew the headscarf to the back of the dress.
  3. Sew the shoes to the feet of the dress.
  4. Add buttons to the front of the dress (optional).

  • Use a different color combination for the dress, apron, and shoes.
  • Add lace or embroidery to the dress or apron.
  • Make the dress longer or shorter.
  • Make the apron wider or narrower.
  • Make the headscarf longer or shorter.
